Plate Final

11/5/24 Thame United Reds 1 - 3 Tower Hill Vixens

What a week! Promotion and a final!

The 3rd game this week and another very hot day, the girls were still tired from the Abingdon game - most got home at 21.30 2 nights earlier, kick off was delayed and there were water breaks as well as the long distance to travel) and Tower Hill are in the league above.

Despite this, Thame went 1 up early on, Tower Hill equalised before half time. 2nd half a bobbling shot from Tower Hill hit a clump of grass and the keeper missed it putting Thame 2-1 down. Despite a lot of runs in to the Tower Hill penalty area the Thame girls just couldn't get their equaliser and a 3rd goal for Tower Hill finished the game.

Another disappointment and there were tears but the girls were told they should be extremely proud of themselves, reaching the final was a great achievement and they have been promoted. They have only been playing together for this season, with a lot of players joining Thame this season from 2 disbanded local teams so things can only get better next season!

9/5/24 Abingdon United Ladies 3 - 0 Thame United Reds

The 2nd evening game this week due to bad weather postponing the usual Saturday game was played on a boiling hot evening. Abingdon have won the league and are unbeaten so this was always going to be a tough game and they proved too much for Thame to over come.

Thame played well and hit the post and the Thame goalkeeper made some fantastic saves. Disappointing to lose the last game of the season and finish their nearly 3 month unbeaten run but they've been promoted so looking forward to next season.

Thame Have Been Promoted To The A League!

7/5/24 Thame United Reds 3 - 1 Kidlington Crocodiles

After going down 1 nil early in the game, Thame fought back and had a few chances, a handball in the Kidlington penalty area gave Thame a penalty, the goaly saved but Thame scored on the rebound. A minute later Thame scored again.

A goal in the 2nd half gave Thame some breathing space as the kidlington team battled hard to get through, some graet goalkeeping from the Thame goaly kept them out.

The win has meant Thame have now been promoted - congratulations girls and the coaching team!

4/5/24 Stonesfield 1 - 4 Thame United Reds 4

Thame took a comfortable 2 nil lead in the first 10 minutes and were 4-0 up by half time.

Stonesfield scored a good goal in the 2nd half.

With 9 minutes to go, unfortunately an accidental clash with her own player injured one of the Stonesfield team and she was unable to stand and an ambulance was called so both managers decided to end the game with Stonesfield conceding. We have since heard that whilst painful, the injury to the Stonesfield player wasn't serious and we wish her a speedy recovery.

27/4/24  Headington Yellows 2 - 16 Thame United Reds

Wow! What a match! This was the semi final of the plate competition and the girls have made the final in style!

From the start they had control of the game, Thame scoring 2 in the 1st 6 minutes. With 8 goals each half and every one of the girls playing their best game of the season it was fantastic to watch.

2 girls scored 4 goals and 1 scored a hat trick!  We of course feel for Headington who stayed focus and played to score despite the big scoreline.

23/4/24 Thame United Reds 3 - 1 Thame United Blacks

The reds fought a hard local derby to ensure they kept they're unbeaten run in tact!

17/4/24 Thame United Reds 3 - 2 Witney Vikings

A very tough and physical midweek games ended with victory for Thame. Thame took an early lead and were 3-1 up at half time however with the weather taking a turn for the worse Witney got a 2nd goal and the last 20 minutes were tightly fought with Thame coming away with a deserved victory.

13/3/24 Thame United Reds 3 - 0 Stonesfield Football Club

The Reds took an early lead against a tough opposition, great work from our goalie to keep out some good shots. Two goals in 5 minutes in the second half sealed the win.

30/3/24 and 6/4/24 - Easter break

23/3/24 - Thame United Blacks 1 - 2 Thame United Reds

A tightly fought derby match the Reds scoring first straight from kick off! Must have been the fastest goal scored this season. The Blacks fought back to equalise but Reds scored the winner late in the second half.

16/3/24 - Stonesfield Football Club 0 - 3 Thame United Reds

This was a quarter final cup game and a very early start for the Thame team, 8.30am in Whitney! A good display from the Thame team and a number of chances on goal saw them win 3-0! On to the semi-finals!

9/3/24 - Thame United Reds 3 - 3 Oxford City Ladies

Parents report - with a few weeks since their last game, the girls were down a number of 1st team players due to Duke Of Edinburgh commitments however the girls performed brilliantly & slotted in to positions they were not experienced in so to hold the Oxford girls to a draw was fantastic!

17/2/24 Thame United Red Girls 4 - 2 Donnington U14 Red Phoenix (cup game)

13/3/24 Holmer Green Hawks 3 - 6 Penn & Tylers Green

With all league games now finished, HGH played a friendly against their arch rivals Penn & Tylers Green! HGH were winning 3 - 1 at half time but lost 3 - 6 in the end!  There were a few injuries and some bad luck including an own goal. The away teams top scorer (who got a 4 of the goals) has scored 100 goals for them this season!

30/3/24 and 6/4/24 - Easter break

23/3/24 Holmer Green Hawks 2 - 2 Chalfont Saints

Ruislip Rangers 0 - 4 Holmer Green Falcons

17/3/24 - match postponed - water logged pitch

10/3/24 - Holmer Green Hawks - Berkhamsted Raiders

1st game in a few weeks, not the best conditions but a game nonetheless! We are all about learning, developing & moving forward.  We are taking from the game the attitude changes at halftime & when listening to instructions came out a more positive TEAM who gave a good battle and ignoring the score attempted to be the better side. With great passing and tackling once we had settled down it was us who looked the better side.

2/3/24 - match postponed - water logged pitch

17/2/24 - match postponed - water logged pitch

24/2/24 - waterlogged pitch, match postponed
